A Scientific Committee (SC) has been created in RHMS to promote the development of scientific activities. The SC, composed of praticians and/or paramedics having their main activity in RHMS, claims to be the interface between RHMS and the external scientific participants (universities, industries, scientific companies, others hospitals…).
To reach these objectives, the SC has developed the Clinical Research Unit.
1) By developing such a Clinical Research Unit, RHMS acquires the means necessary to develop and dynamize the clinical research which is essential to the development of new strategies of diagnoses, care and prevention.
2) The Clinical Research Unit is the key point of the clinical research development within RHMS and tries to promote synergisms between different departments. It supports a group of physicians representing the principal research area in the RHMS: Nephrology/Dialysis, Oncology/ Haematology, Cardiology…
3) The Clinical Research Unit is supported by the general management of RHMS which attaches much importance to the research activities with the aim of offering to the patients the care worthy of the best existing practices.
The set up and the coordination of clinical studies are the main goal of the Clinical Research unit.
Missions
As soon as RHMS is selected to participate in a clinical study, the Clinical Research Unit Team commits itself to conducting the study under the best conditions.
The patient recruitment is one of the most important factors for success.
It is the reason why the sponsors perform feasibility studies to select the participating sites.
RHMS acquires electronic tools such as computerized patient's medical files which makes easier the extracting processess for, i.e. inclusion/exclusion criteria required by the clinical studies.
