Hypertension
About a quarter of the worldwide population suffers from hypertension, among them  330 millions people living in Western countries (data from year 2000). Since elevated blood pressure rarely comes up to symptoms, more than 30 % of patients are unaware that they have hypertension. Exceptionnaly, hypertension may cause headaches or  blured vision.

High blood pressure progressively dammages differents organs such as the heart, the arteries, the brain, the eyes and the kidneys. The consequences are dramatic with higher risk for heart attack, lower limb gangrene, cerebral stroke, loss of vision and progressive renal impairment. Actually, the hypertension has a bad reputation to such a point that it is often called "the silent killer"
